Wind Waker's 'Toon Link' headed to Super Smash Bros.

Link's cartoonish incarnation from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is headed to the upcoming Nintendo 3DS and Wii U fighting game Super Smash Bros., according to the game's official Japanese website.

Toon Link, as he's described on the website, comes equipped with the Wind Waker item referenced in the game's name. As you might expect, he'll also have the Master Sword, the Hylian Shield and a bow and arrow, based on screenshots from the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions. He also appeared in 2008's Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Wii.

Toon Link will join the growing roster of fighters in Super Smash Bros. like Luigi, Mega Man and Princess Peach when Project Sora's fighting game is released in 2014.
