Eve Online's 20th expansion is Rubicon, hits Nov. 19

The 20th expansion to CCP Games' long-running massively multiplayer space sim Eve Online is called Rubicon and is scheduled for a Nov. 19 release, the developer announced today.

Rubicon will focus on "individual and small fleet activity" and include new "quick-strike" options will allow for new tactical options in the game. The update will also bring a set of mobile structures, designed for solo and group use, that  "support action outside of the safety of the hangar" and are player-owned. Balance changes and new certificate and ship identification systems targeted at new players are also planned for the update.

"Twenty expansions in 10 years is an amazing milestone built on the shoulders of our legendary player community," said Andie Nordgren, senior producer of Eve Online. "With Rubicon, we are beginning an ambitious journey for the next several expansions of Eve that will end up with players taking control of the most potent technologies in the universe and controlling space on an unprecedented scale. Their insatiable desire for impact and adventure fuels both this vision and our passion for making the largest science fiction game universe."
