If you think you're having a bad day, take comfort that you aren't The Evil Within protagonist Detective Sebastian Castellanos.
In this extended gameplay video from Shinji Mikami's upcoming survival horror game, Sebastian wakes up to find himself hanging upside-down in a grisly slaughterhouse. Escaping a chainsaw-wielding butcher and whirling spikes by the skin of his teeth, Sebastian's day only gets worse when the city outside appears to have been completely obliterated.
A later gameplay sequence has Sebastian defending a house from hordes of monsters. While placing mines under windows helps stem the tide, his gun and ammo reserves prove ultimately inadequate and he's forced to flee.
The Evil Within is planned to launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC sometime next year.
