The three add-ons contained in the season pass for The Last of Us will arrive between now and the first half of 2014, starting with a map pack Oct. 15, publisher Sony Computer Entertainment announced today.
The Abandoned Territories Map Pack comes with four new desolate multiplayer locales: Suburbs, which features a dust storm; Bus Depot, where giraffes roam in the background; Hometown, a creepy nighttime environment; and Bookstore, a shop with vertical gameplay on its two-level layout.
Developer Naughty Dog is also working on an expansion of the game's single-player story. According to the studio, casting for a new character was recently completed and performance capture will begin next week, and the company plans to have the add-on ready this December or in January 2014. The third and final DLC included in the season pass is multiplayer content, and will be available in the first half of next year.
Naughty Dog is also releasing more than 60 multiplayer customization items for character heads, all of which will be free to season pass customers. At this point, there's no word on individual pricing for any of the three packs. But the studio said the season pass, which is available for $19.99, offers a discount of more than 75 percent over purchasing all the DLC separately.
