OpenKit, a source data platform that offers leaderboards, achievements, and cloud storage for mobile developers, is now live.
Created by Peter Relan, co-founder of the now defunct social platform OpenFeint, the new open source hosting platform includes APIs for iOS's Game Center and Android's Google Play as well as Google Plus and Facebook connectivity. Speaking earlier this year, OpenKit CEO Relan said that the service would be "providing all important mobile backend services for mobile game developers."
"OpenKit takes all the pain out of implementing cross platform social features like leaderboards and challenges," stated Dave MItchell from developer Two Tails, on the OpenKit website. "It's saved us a huge amount of development time."
