Space Hulk: Deathwing, the latest game based on the Space Hulk board game and set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, will put a different spin on the franchise as a first-person shooter experience, Focus Home Interactive announced today.
Deathwing is being developed by Streum On Studio using Unreal Engine 4 and will be co-produced by Cyanide Studio and Focus Home. Players, in the shoes of a Space Marine from the Deathwing company, will be sent into battle against Genestealers — alien enemies — in the tight, labyrinthine corridors of a Space Hulk ship.
Experience points earned during missions can be used to upgrade players' abilities and equipment. These points, called Fervor Points, can be earned based on performance in battle and spent expanding four different skill trees. Through this system, players will be able to unlock new powers and gain access to relics and new, more powerful weapons.
