Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, WayForward Technologies' latest game in the Shantae platforming series, reached its $500, 000 stretch goal, introducing a "risky" mode that features the game's nemesis, Risky Boots.
The developer revealed two new stretch goals for the game's Kickstarter campaign. At $600,000, the game will receive a bonus chapter where Shantae must solve the mystery of disappearing carpets during the annual Magic Carpet Races at Cape Crustacean. Its last stretch goal at $1.3 will introduce animated cutscenes for the game's intro, ending and key plot points.
As previously announced, the game will receive playable heroes at $900,000 and an additional chapter if the campaign raises $1 million in funds.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero surpassed its initial funding goal of $400,000 late September, securing a release on the PlayStation Vita, Vita TV, Windows PC via Steam, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
