Screen Australia funding 21 games with AU$2.6 million

Screen Australia, the Australian government's funding board for film, television and multimedia projects, allocated AU$2.6 million to support 21 games, according to information published today on the agency's official website.

The funding is part of continuing government efforts to fund the Australian video game industry. Last November, the government announced plans to earmark AU$20 million over three years. In July, the government announced plans to distribute AU$6 million to 10 indie studios over three years.

The slate of games approved today includes platforms like Android and iOS and encompasses endless runners, real-time strategy games and tower defense games. The full list of funded developers, games and platforms appears on Screen Australia's official website.
