The 2013 League of Legends World Championship is drawing to a close, with the final matchup now determined and set for Oct. 4: Royal Club versus SK Telecom T1.
This past weekend saw the conclusion of the tournament's semifinals at the Galen Center, located in Los Angeles on the campus of the University of Southern California. SK Telecom T1 triumphed over fellow Korean team NaJin Black Sword on the night of Friday, Sept. 27 — technically, the match ended on Saturday morning — while China's Royal Club defeated Europe's Fnatic on Saturday afternoon.
That means Royal Club and SK Telecom T1, considered the top two teams in contention, will face off in the finals this Friday, Oct. 4, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in front of an expected crowd of 11,000 League of Legends fans. The event begins at 11 p.m. ET, with the winner set to take home a $1 million purse while the runner-up leaves with $250,000.
