Idea Factory establishes California-based branch

Japanese developer and publisher Idea Factory Co., Ltd. have established Idea Factory International, Inc., a new branch based in California to increase the global output of its properties and strengthen its brand worldwide, the company announced today.

Headed by CEO Harusato Akenaga, the new branch will facilitate Idea Factory's goal to release more of its products, such as video games, animation and social apps, internationally. The new California entity will focus on North American and European territories. Idea Factory International, Inc. will operate with a focus on strengthen the Idea Factory brand worldwide and provide "general and overall information regarding such Idea Factory properties to North American and European fans."

The parent company soft launched a website for Idea Factory International to compliment the announcement.  Known for Hyperdimension Neptunia and Record of Agarest War franchises, other companies under the Idea Factory Co., Ltd. group include Compile Heart and Design Factory.

NIS America published the third installment of the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, in North America and Europe in March.

The latest news follows Idea Factory's announcement yesterday that it entered a contract to develop a new role-playing game with Disgaea 4 director Masahiro Yamamoto. With Yamamoto currently working with a team of developers on the unnamed title, the new RPG is scheduled to be published by Idea Factory subsidiary Compile Heart in 2014.
