Call of Duty: Strike Team mobile shooter hits iOS today

Activision Publishing launched a new Call of Duty game for iOS this morning, Call of Duty: Strike Team, a new shooter experience "built from the ground up" for iPhone and iPad, according to the game's App Store page.

Call of Duty: Strike Team is currently available for $6.99 and features a 1.31 GB download. Players will step into the roll of leader for a U.S. Joint Special Operations Team in 2020, seeking to save the country after finding themselves embroiled in war with an unknown enemy. The game switches between the classic first-person shooter view and top-down view to allow "reconnaissance and coordinated squad attacks."

Strike Team features a single-player campaign mode and a survival mode in which players can compete for top spots in online leaderboards. In the later, players will face off against waves of oncoming enemies to see how long they can last. Squad members can also be customized with different weapons, armor and perks.

Call of Duty: Strike Team is compatible with iPhone 4S and higher, iPad mini, iPad 2, iPad third generation and higher and fifth generation iPod touch. The game requires iOS 6.0 or latter to run.
