Forza 5 to include Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 track

In honor of the Xbox One Racing Team's participation in the 2013 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 race, Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox One will include Bathurst's Mount Panorama track in the game, according to a post on Xbox Wire.

At the Supercheap Auto Bathurst, set to take place Oct. 10 through 13, viewers will get the first look at the Xbox One Racing car — the latest Holden VF Commodore model with a top speed nearing 300 kilometers per hour. Driving the car will be World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx of the U.K. and three-time Race of Champions winner Mattias Ekström of Switzerland. Xbox ambassador and team mentor Mark Skaife and Australia's Triple Eight Race Engineering team owner Roland Dane will accompany the Xbox racing team to the track.

According to Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Forza developer Turn 10 Studios, the Bathurst track has been one of the most widely requested tracks for addition to the Forza series.

"Few circuits have been requested more by the worldwide Forza fanbase than Bathurst, and for good reason," Greenawalt said. "It holds a special place in motorsports history as one of the most demanding and challenging circuits in the world. In addition, the timing couldn't be better to finally bring Bathurst to the Forza series; with Forza Motorsport 5, we're able to bring the circuit to life in a way that nobody else can."

Forza Motorsport 5 will launch alongside the Xbox One on Nov. 22.
