StarCraft champion hired to work on new browser game

StarCraft gaming champion Sean Plott is now a game developer after being hired by Palo Alto-based studio Artillery to work on a new browser title, according to a post on Plott's blog.

Plott, who is better known by his handle Day[9], has a background in game design through his degree in interactive media. He and studio members from Artillery met through the gaming league.

"Artillery set out to do the impossible: to have graphically intensive, triple-A games load quickly and run smoothly in the browser," Plott wrote on his blog.

"After gently explaining to Ankur why the idea was technologically infeasible, he pulled out a laptop and showed me an already working demo... on a laptop getting a signal from tethered phone."

The studio has yet to reveal the upcoming project.
