Eve Online's lead designer Kristoffer Touborg has announced plans to quit CCP and join Riot Games, to work on League of Legends.
Touborg, who has been working on Eve Online for over five years, made his announcement on Facebook. "It's been an incredible five years, working for a company I love, on a game I love," he wrote. "Not a lot of people get that opportunity, but I did and I'll always be grateful that CCP let me work at a place where I'd get up every morning and be happy to go to work."
Touborg will be moving from Iceland to Dublin, Ireland, where Riot Games established its European headquarters in 2010.
Afer gaining a Masters Degree in media and game design in Copenhagen, Touborg started at CCP as a tester, rapidly moving up to lead game designer. "You can't do the same thing forever," he added. "I feel like after more than five years, it's time to try something new. A few years ago, my overwhelming interest was the Eve universe; now it's League of Legends and the competitive scene there."
