PlayStation Vita-exclusive Phantasy Star Nova is coming in 2014, it was announced during Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia's Press Conference 2013 today.
The new title is being developed by tri-Ace and will be an offline game based on the world of Phantasy Star Online 2, Sonic Team's online action-role playing game.
Phantasy Star Online 2 launched on Windows PC in Japan last July and was ported to Japanese PS Vitas in February of this year. General producer Satoshi Sakai said that the studio wanted to see how a portable platform could work with the PC version, saying that "giving players more places and opportunities to play the game would help create something really new."
The game was originally slated for an early 2013 launch in North America; however, Sega confirmed with Polygon in March that Phantasy Star Online 2 for the region was delayed. An updated launch window has not been announced.
