Ryse trailers ask gamers to name its blood-spattered execution moves

Two new trailers for Ryse: Son of Rome show off gory execution techniques for finishing off enemies.

In the first video, the player character is facing two foes. He stabs one of them through the stomach, and tosses him into the other. When the other assailant recovers, the player slices off his hand. The second video shows a significantly more straightforward execution, with the player character systematically cutting off the two opponents' limbs with clean strokes.

In a cross-promotion with GameStop, developer Crytek is offering players the chance to name the game's execution moves. GameStop will be sharing one video per day on its Twitter account, and players who follow it can respond with a name suggestion and a given hashtag.

The users whose suggestions are ultimately selected and used in the game will be given a free copy of Ryse, a t-shirt and a signed poster.

Ryse: Son of Rome will launch aside the Xbox One on Nov. 22.
