The 2014 Game Developers Conference 2014 added three more Summit talks to its lineup this morning centered around narrative design, mobile title 10,000,000 and Kerbal Space Program, according to the event page.
Developer Squad's technical artist Chad Jenkins will discuss designing multipurpose game assets that can be easily utilized and changed by modders in his talk about Kerbal Space Program, "Sandbox Lessons: Modular Design in Kerbal Space Program." Jenkin's talk, which is part of GDC's Independent Games Summit, will show how modular design can make a better sandbox game.
In the Smartphone and Tablet Games Summit, developer Luca Redwood of puzzle role-playing hybrid 10,000,000 will discuss his title in a postmortem. "Making 10,000,000" will show how Redwood believes he was able to achieve success with his title, and help other developers understand his design decisions and the title's performance across multiple devices.
Tracy Fullerton, developer on Walden, the Game, will host a talk on telling stories through gameplay mechanics and the challenges in this kind of narrative experimentation, "I Went To The Woods: World Building, Gameplay and Narrative."
GDC 2014 Summits will take place during the first two days of the conference, March 17 and 18, at the Moscone Center in San Francsco, Calif.
