Halfbrick's time-traveling shoot 'em up Age of Zombies, first released as a PS Mini in 2010, is available starting today on PlayStation Vita, Halfbrick community coordinator James Schultz announced in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
The Vita port was developed by BlitWorks, the studio behind the Vita and PlayStation 3 ports of Mossmouth's Spelunky as well as the upcoming PS3, PlayStation 4 and Vita ports of Polytron's Fez. According to Schultz, the port is "without a doubt the definitive version of Age of Zombies."
In addition to new twin-stick controls and remastered graphics, Age of Zombies on Vita also includes the original game's bonus "Wild West" chapter, additional Survival Challenges, a slightly higher difficulty mode, global leaderboards, Trophy support and new health bar to monitor protagonist Barry Steakfries' health.
In Age of Zombies, Barry Steakfries — the hero of other Halfbrick titles including Jetpack Joyride and Monster Dash — must face off against undead creatures across the entire span of time. Players will arm themselves with explosives and weapons and time-travel to different locations to take down zombie ninjas, cavemen and dinosaurs.
