Sony racing title DriveClub is no longer a PlayStation 4 launch title in Japan, as the title is delayed passed its planned Feb. 22 launch date, the company announced in a press release reported by Inside Games.
Reasons behind the delay remain vague, with Sony only revealing "various circumstances" are behind the decision. DriveClub's release date is now to be announced in Japan.
Likewise, the game was previously delayed in the West, with its launch date postponed from "early 2014" to later in the year. At the time, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida stated this was the result of more time being needed during development.
"We understand that the delay is disappointing news, but can assure you that the reason we have made this decision is to ensure that when DriveClub launches, it will realize the next-gen racing vision. And PlayStation 4 gamers will have no shortage of titles to play this year," said Yoshida.
We've contacted Sony for a clearer picture of the game's Japan launch date.
