X-Men: Battle of the Atom, a card battle game from developer Aeria Mobile and Marvel Entertainment, is available free on iOS.
Written by X-Men comic alumni James Asmus, X-Men: Battle of the Atom has more than 45 missions and a roster of characters including Beast, Kitty Pryde, Storm, Wolverine and more. Players will be able to join 20 versus 20 battles in real time, play raid events and participate in story arcs that span months and connect with X-Men stories like Age of Apocalypse and Schism.
"It's an honor for us to develop a game for such a storied and beloved franchise, one that is a personal favorite of mine," said Lan Hoang, founder and CEO of Aeria Games. "X-Men: Battle of the Atom captures the amazing artwork and drama of the greatest comic book storylines, bringing them to life with exciting, dynamic battles between dozens of players in real time."
Announced last year and originally scheduled for a fall 2013 release, X-Men: Battle of the Atom takes its name from a crossover comic book series of the same name that premiered last year. Check out the trailer above to get a feel for the game, which you can download in the iOS App Store.
