PlayStation Vita game Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc will mix investigatory elements from Phoenix Wright with storytelling methods from titles such as Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, NIS America marketing coordinator David Alonzo announced via the PlayStation Blog.
Trigger Happy Havoc is a re-release of the original Danganronpa, which launched in 2010 in Japan for PSP. After the students of Hope's Peak Academy are locked in the school by headmaster Monokuma — a "psychotic black and white bear" — they'll have to commit murder to escape. The price for being caught, however, is death. To survive, players will need to build relationships with their fellow students and gather clues.
"Once a murder happens, you'll then enter the ‘Class Trial' period, which consists of a series of adrenaline-laced, timing-and-rhythm-based games, shooting down falsehoods and shining the light of truth in the darkest corners of the school halls," Alonzo wrote.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc launches Feb. 11 in North America and Feb. 14 in Europe.
