Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition launch trailer shows off its visual upgrades on Xbox One and PS4

Square Enix released its official launch trailer for the fully upgraded re-release Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, offering a closer look at the re-built Lara Croft and the re-designed world on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Definitive Edition features a number of upgrades to the game, including a new face and head crafted for next-gen, an increase in polygon body density with new sweat, mud and blood material and effects, and Tress FX tech for more realistic hair motion.

You can also expect to see an upgrade to the environment in the release. Texture resolution has been increased four times, with all in-game characters fully enhanced. Additionally, the environment will react to changes happening around it, with the underbrush reacting as characters move through it and rain piercing searchlight beams.

The Definitive Edition includes all original DLC, a digital version of the Dark Horse comic, a mini art book and developer videos. Those who pre-order the title will also receive a special art book with never-before released concept art.

Check out our interview with the game's executive producer Scot Amos on the newly-designed title for next-gen.
