Linden Lab CEO Rod Humble departs company

Linden Lab CEO Rod Humble has left the company to pursue his own startup, GamesIndustry International reports.

Humble was appointed CEO of Linden Lab, best known for creating online world Second Life (pictured above), in 2011. News of his departure was posted on Facebook.

"It's been a great three years," Humble wrote. "All my thanks to my colleagues at Linden Lab and our wonderful customers I wish you the very best for the future and continued success! I am starting up a company to make art, entertainment and unusual things! More on that in a few weeks!"

Humble's past jobs include his time as the executive vice president and head of The Sims at EA from 2008 to 2010. He also worked on titles such as EverQuest and The Sims 3.
