Japanese shooter developer Cave retreats from West

Japanese shoot-'em-up maker Cave Interactive has shut down its English-language blog and social media account, signalling a retreat from Western expansion plans.

The company behind Akai Katana (2011) and Deathsmiles (2009) for Xbox 360 has been most active of late in mobile games, recently self publishing Don Paccin on iOS. A post on the company's blog late last week and on its Twitter account stated that its English-language outreach would cease. There was no word on how, or if, the company would continue to find ways to localize and sell its games in the West. Polygon has contacted the company for more information.
