Valve debuting Terrorblade hero during Dota 2 'New Bloom' (correction)

Valve revealed more details about Dota 2's latest holiday event, the New Bloom, today with the unveiling of a new hero: Terrorblade.

Terrorblade, the "demon marauder," strikes fear into the hearts of demons, according to Dota 2 lore. But after stealing from the Demon Lords, he was imprisoned in Foulfell, the hell for Hell. Instead of accepting his fate — staring at a mirror in which his soul was reflected back at him — he mastered his reflection and unleashed it upon the world.

In Dota 2, Terrorblade's abilities include Reflection, which allows him to create a double of an enemy that then attacks the original creature and slows it down; Conjure Image, with which he can create a ghost of himself for assistance; Metamorphosis, which lets him swap out his melee attack for a stronger ranged attack; and Sunder, with which he can exchange his health with another champion. Players can add custom upgrades to Terrorblade by purchasing an Arcana item, The Fractal Shard of Inner Abysm, that will be available Feb. 6.

The New Bloom update will also add a new mode to Dota 2, Random Ability Draft, which is unlocked at level 11. In Random Ability Draft, the game randomly assigns a hero to each player, then places all abilities into a pool from which the players take turns choosing.

Check out today's New Bloom page for all the gameplay tweaks that will be contained in Game Update 6.80.
