The first screens for an upcoming film adaptation of the Sly Cooper series hit Facebook today, ahead of its eventually 2016 release in cinemas.
The movie is being developed as part of a collaboration between film studios Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment, with Kevin Munroe attached as writer and director. Munroe is probably best known as the writer on the 2007 mutant turtle flick TMNT. He's currently producing the upcoming Ratchet and Clank film scheduled to hit in 2015.
An official blurb describes the film as a "kinetic and comedic heist" where the orphaned Sly will uncover the secret behind his family to discover he comes from a line of thieves, leading him to search for The Cooper Clan's book of secrets.
"From romantic Parisian backdrops to the lush mountains of China, gritty film noir meets bright, colourful graphic novels in this origin story of the world's greatest thief-turned-hero."

Update: An official teaser for the film is now available, which you can also check out in the video below.
