The latest trailer for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, released by publisher NIS America, introduces the murder mystery visual novel game's villain, characters and nightmarish eccentricities.
The Spike Chunsoft-developed title puts players in the role of Makoto Naegi, a student at Hope's Peak Academy. Makoto and his fellow classmates, who are trapped in the school, are forced by the masked antagonist to dispatch each other in order to escape the intuition.
Finishing the game will unlock the School Life mode, which explores what might happen if the students were trapped in the school but didn't have to kill each other. The mode offers a new storyline, new gameplay mode and the chance to learn more about the title's characters.
The upcoming edition is an overhauled version of the first Danganronpa that was initially released on the PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2010. With a fan translation of the game already available, the official localization of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc will be available for PlayStation Vita Feb. 11 in North America and Feb. 14 in Europe.
