Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition free on 3DS through Feb. 2

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is free in the Nintendo 3DS eShop through Feb. 2.

You can find instructions and a QR code that will take you directly to the game in the eShop at Nintendo's official Legend of Zelda site.

The multiplayer-focused title was first released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. The Anniversary Edition supports up to four players, each of whom must have a copy of the game on their 3DS to cooperatively save Princes Zelda from Vaati, the wind mage. To see it in action, check out Nintendo's 2011 commercial above for The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition, which stars Robin Williams and his daughter Zelda as they go head-to-head in a battle to collect rupees and save or destroy the comedian's beard.

According to a tweet from the official Nintendo of America Twitter account, Nintendo is offering the free game in celebration of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, the Nintendo 3DS game that was released last November.
