Sony offers $100 coupon for PlayStation 4 and Xperia Z1S bundle

Unveiling its new Xperia Z1S smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today, Sony announced a $100 incentive for anyone buying the device along with a PlayStation 4.

At its CES press conference, the company's mobile president Kunimasa Suzuki said that a $100 Sony voucher will be offered to consumers who buy the Xperia Z1S along with a PS4. The Xperia Z1S is a T-Mobile exclusive; an enhanced, waterproof version of the Xperia Z1. It retails for around $600 outright and will be available on January 22, according to The Verge.

Although the theme of Sony's conference was "play," according to Mike Fasulo, president of Sony Consumer Electronics U.S., there was very little mention of video games or consoles during his presentation. Sony CEO Kaz Hirai is due to give a CES keynote tomorrow, during which, it seems likely, the PlayStation 4 will feature more prominently. Today, the company focused on its 4K efforts, new cameras and on Core, a wearable smart pedometer.
