Registration for Mysterium, the annual convention celebrating all things related to the Myst franchise, is now open, event organizers announced.
This year's convention will be held in Spokane, Wash. — the home of Myst developer Cyan Worlds — at the Comfort Inn in the University District. The event will host numerous panels and performances throughout the conference, which will run Aug. 1 through 3.
According to Mytserium planning director Gary Buddell, Cyan will participate in the convention this year, following the successful Kickstarter campaign for Obduction, an adventure game and spiritual successor to the Myst series.
Registration for the event is currently available through the Mysterium website. Weekend passes are $25 each, while day passes are $5 for Friday and $10 for Saturday or Sunday. Organizers are also offering up registration for hotel rooms and pre-orders for Mysterium 2014 t-shirts.
Mysterium began in 2000 as a fan-organized meet up in Spokane. According to the event's website, the informal gathering spawned an annual weekend-long convention. The conference has been held in a handful of cities over the years and includes Myst-related presentations as well as a tour of Cyan Worlds' studio if the event is held in Spokane.
