Developer Mike Bithell released several pieces of concept art today for Volume, his modern day retelling of Robin Hood and follow-up to Thomas Was Alone.
Check out the gallery below for a glimpse of Volume's protagonist, Locksley, his enemies and some elements from the game's environments. Each was created by Daz Watford, who Bithell describes as his "longtime collaborator, mate and all round cool chap."
"Volume is a futuristic retelling of the Robin Hood legend," Bithell wrote in an email to Polygon. "Bringing the motifs, fashion and aesthetics of a medieval world into a futuristic context was Daz's job on the game, and I love the way it's turned out. From the armor styling of the AI, to the gauntlet and quiver like battery pack on Locksley to the awesome Celtic patterns on the volume projectors, he's nailed it, and produced a cool tech environment with a British twang. In my opinion. Wow, this paragraph got very PRy."
Bithell unveiled Volume, which is headed to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Mac and Windows PC, last August. Check out the gallery below to see the concept art and Polygon's interview with Bithell to learn more about the game.
