Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire demo available Oct. 21

The demo for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be available on Nintendo 3DS Oct. 21, The Pokémon Company International announced today.

The demo will allow players the chance to battle with the evolved forms of the game's starters, Sceptile, Blaziken and Swampert, and see their Mega-Evolved forms. Those who play the demo will be able to keep their items and one special Pokémon to transfer into the full game.

The Pokémon Company International also released a new trailer, which you can watch above, showing off several new Mega-Evolutions and gameplay. Players will be able to catch legendary Pokémon Latios or Latias (which also Mega-Evolve) in Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, respectively. To catch these Pokémon, players will need the Eon Ticket, available later this year; neither Latios nor Latias can be caught in normal gameplay.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire launch Nov. 21. For more on the games — and why Game Freak has no current plans to port  Pokémon to mobile — check out our interview with producer Junichi Masuda and director Shigeru Ohmori.
