The new season of Killer Instinct for Xbox One will see the return of two classic fighters, the dinosaur Riptor and flaming fighter Cinder, alongside a series of new, unannounced ones, Microsoft and developer Iron Galaxy confirmed today.
In a new launch trailer for Killer Instinct Season 2, Iron Galaxy teased the game's new lineup with a series of silhouettes. On Xbox Wire, Microsoft says the new characters will include an "ancient Babylonian sorcerer, an avenging ghost, a battle-hardened war golem" and more. The entire Killer Instinct Season 1 cast will be rebalanced and get new moves, and select characters will get enhanced aerial combos.
Iron Galaxy is also making some broader changes to the game, overhauling Killer Instinct's user interface, progression system and graphics. The game's resolution will be boosted from 720p to 900p, according to Iron Galaxy community manager Alex Jebailey.
More details about the changes coming in Killer Instinct's second season are available at Xbox Wire.
Killer Instinct Season 2 officially kicks off Oct. 15 with two new playable characters, TJ Combo and Maya.
