A match 3 video game based on Disney's upcoming animated film, Big Hero 6, is launching for Android, iOS and Windows 8 mobile devices Nov. 3, Disney Interactive producer Scott Humphries announced during a recent event in San Francisco.
Called Big Hero 6: Bot Fight, the game allows players to collect "hundreds of bots" and evolve them into higher forms. Players make matches in order to have their bots attack enemies. Humphries said the game will involve "strategy and depth" as players customize their team. Characters from the movie will also appear in-game.
According to Humphries, Disney Interactive wanted to expand on the film's world of San Fransokyo — a mashup of San Francisco and Toyko — and allow players to explore further. Disney worked with mobile developer Gumi, creator of games such as Allen and the Dragon King and Genjuhime Monster Princess, to create the game.
