PlayStation 4 owners have been able to grab and share screenshots from games since the console launched. But this social-friendly functionality still eludes the Xbox One.
In an interview with IGN today, Microsoft's head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that the company's engineers are still struggling with the issue, which will likely be resolved with an update in 2015.
"We can do video, how hard can it be to just grab a frame of the video?" he joked. "It's a little more technically challenging than I thought. Two weeks ago, they think they've found a good solution for screenshots. They're working on it. They know people want it. The team has a path to getting it done, and now it's just prioritizing."
Earlier this month, Spencer said that "people beat me up on screenshots," and that the company has tagged the issue as a priority, along with customization and other sharing features.
