Assassin's Creed Unity offers plenty of side activities in addition to its story missions, and a new trailer released today by publisher Ubisoft offers glimpses of the variety of side quests available in the game's open-world Paris.
"Each Parisian district has been brought to life, along with its own special character," says creative director Alex Amancio in the trailer.
Murder Mysteries are one type of side quest in Unity. You can use Arno Dorian's Eagle Vision to investigate crime scenes, and will receive unique weapons as rewards for cracking cases. Contracts have been turned into Paris Stories, which are smaller bits of narrative that may or may not include assassinations. And if you're looking forward to climbing up 18th-century Parisian buildings and descending into the city's famous Catacombs, try Treasure Hunts.
Co-op heist missions let you search for treasure with up to three other friends. The more stealthy you are, the bigger the loot. These don't take place in the open world per se; they're more like dungeons, with layouts, guard paths and loot randomized for each playthrough. And if you want to bask in your progress through Assassin's Creed Unity, you can head to the Cafe Theatre to keep track of your in-game trophies, profiles, customization and more, as well as head into training facilities.
Assassin's Creed Unity is set for release Nov. 11 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. The game's $29.99 season pass includes a story expansion, Dead Kings, and a separate game, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China.
