Harry Potter universe gets a new adventure this Halloween

J.K. Rowling will be releasing a new Harry Potter story on Oct. 31st. The reveal was made today via the Pottermore website, and was the culmination of a series of games and riddles that ran over several days. The 1,700-word piece will relate the backstory of Dolores Umbridge, Mashable reports.

The announcement, sent exclusively to Pottermore members, says that Rowling will provide "revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character."

Madam Undersecretary Professor Dolores Jane Umbridde, a sadist fond of wearing pink, was played by Britsh actor Imelda Staunton in the Harry Potter films. Umbridge is the only other person, aside from Lord Voldemort himself, to physically scar the young wizard. She entered the timeline of the series in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as a member of the Hogwart's staff.
