PlayStation 4 owners now have access to a YouTube app following the release of firmware update 2.0.
YouTube software engineer Richard O'Grady confirmed the news earlier today on the PlayStation blog. PS4 owners can now share gameplay directly to YouTube by hitting the Share button on the DualShock 4 controller.
Likewise, console owners can now check out videos uploaded by PlayStation Network pals by checking in the "What's New" section of the PlayStation 4.
Videos are available in up to 1080p resolution and 5.1 channel audio, O'Grady confirms.
Sony first announced direct access to YouTube prior to the launch of the PS4. The company confirmed late last year that users would not be able to share videos via YouTube at the console's launch.
