How to find all six of J.K. Rowling's new Harry Potter essays

New, 1 comment

Rejoice, Harry Potter fans: J.K. Rowling has six new essays spread throughout book five of the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, available today on Pottermore.

Pottermore is an interactive website that allows users to explore key scenes from the series, read new stories from Rowling and more. In addition to the previously promised 1,700-word piece on Dolores Umbridge — which explores the sadistic, pink-loving professor's background and inspirations — readers will also find stories on Azkaban, Professor Trelawney, wizarding names, thestrals and the Ministers of Magic.

Of course, you won't be able to just hop onto the website's front page and read the new content. Each story has to be unlocked through exploring special scenes in book five. To find them all, check out "The Atrium," "The Carriages," "Dolores Jane Umbridge," "Trelawney is Sacked," "Row Ninety-Seven" and "The Tattered Veil." All six moments are marked with a special red quill.

Spoiler alert: If you want to find each moment on your own, turn back now.

To dig up the essays, you'll need to click around each image.

"The Atrium": Double-click on the phone box to descend into The Ministry of Magic. Then, zoom in with a double click and select the board to the left of the fountain.

"The Carriages": Click on the thestral standing on the left side.

"Dolores Jane Umbridge": Zoom in on the door, which will then take you into Umbridge's office. Select Umbridge to learn her story.

"Trelawney is Sacked": Zoom in on the image and select Sybill Trelawney.

"Row Ninety-Seven": Click one of the darkened orbs sitting on the third row to the right.

"The Tattered Veil": Double-click to zoom in and then select the dueling witch (aka Bellatrix Lestrange).
