Star Wars: Tiny Death Star, Nimblebit's mobile clone of its popular Tiny Tower game, was pulled from app storefronts this week after a year on sale — and evidently Disney didn't tell the studio it was doing so beforehand.
Nimblebit's Ian Marsh told PocketGamer he wasn't told of the game's removal, which caught the studio off-guard because it was "a significant source of revenue for us." Tiny Death Star became available on iOS, Android and Windows mobile devices last November.
Another mobile title, the card battler Star Wars: Assault Team also was taken off stores. (It launched in January.) An unidentified source told PocketGamer that Disney and LucasArts made the decision in order to focus attention to Star Wars Commander, a free-to-play Clash of Clans clone that launched in August.
