The Dark Souls player who bested From Software’s role-playing game using nothing but a Rock Band guitar controller made good on his pledge to strum his way through the second game. Yes, now Dark Souls 2 has been beaten with a guitar.
Dark Souls 2 conquered with a guitar controller, a Wii Remote is up next

Benjamin “Bearzly” Gwin spent just over nine hours playing the Windows PC version of Dark Souls 2, beating all of the game’s bosses and its three downloadable add-ons with his custom guitar controller mapping. Two of the most challenging fights during his play-through, he said, were (unsurprisingly) Darklurker and the Ancient Dragon. Once again, falling off platforms appears to have been a major contributor to his 92 deaths.
Gwin posted some highlights of his guitar controller play-through of Dark Souls 2 to his Twitch channel, including some player-versus-player battles that must now be very embarrassing for the losing party. His white-knuckle guitar-controlled battle against Darklurker is embedded below.
His next Dark Souls-related challenge, Gwin says, is figuring out how to beat the game using only a Wii Remote controller.
