Enter Batman's Bat Cave in virtual reality later this year

You can now experience Batman's famous Bat Cave in virtual reality thanks to the work of Warner Bros., DC Entertainment and visual effects company OTOY, which aims to bring the location to life on Oculus Rift and Samsung Galaxy Gear.

This virtual reality Bat Cave will be based on Batman: The Animated Series, while its development will be helped along by producer Bruce Timm who is said to be "guiding the meticulous adaptation of the original 1992 designs into a fully realized universe with volume and depth," according to the project's press release.

OTOY is also aiming to bring its "interactive holographic video" to glasses-free tech, including light field displays that will power future televisions and mobile devices.

Work on this project is already underway, with aims to release later this Winter through the ORBX viewer app.
