Samus Aran, the heroine of the Metroid series, will star in Monster Hunter 4G through a side quest that becomes available for download later in December.
Monster Hunter 4G, for Nintendo 3DS, is an enhanced edition of 2013's Monster Hunter 4, neither of which has yet to release in the west. The game is planned to launch in North America and Europe as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate in early 2015.
Capcom and Nintendo revealed Samus' presence at the end of a dedicated Monster Hunter Nintendo Direct earlier this morning. Samus, based on her appearance in Metroid: Other M, will cary outsized weapons and can wear either the Varia Suit or the Zero Suit.
At Comic-Con in July, Capcom revealed that Link from The Legend of Zelda also will be a playable character skin in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
