Iconic comic character Archie Andrews will have an unfortunate run-in with Arnold Schwarzenegger's greatest foe — the Predator — in a mashup comic writer Alex de Campi calls "completely insane," USA Today reports.

Archie Meets Predator will be a four-issue series from Dark Horse Comics and Archie Comics penned by de Campi, whose work includes Grindhouse and Lady Zorro. After Archie and friends vacation in Costa Rica, they bring back something a little unexpected.

"Let's take this gentle, beloved, classic teen cast and hunt them down and slaughter them one by one," de Campi told USA Today. "Seriously, if you wouldn't jump at the chance to write something like this, you need your head examined."

Archie artist Fernando Ruiz will provide illustrations for Archie Meets Predator.

The new series sounds bonkers, but Archie Comics is familiar with exploring its weird side. Archie has met the Punisher, faced the zombie apocalypse and even died. Archie Comics also recently announced a cross-over between Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man.

Predator made its debut in 1987 film of the same name, in which Schwarzenegger and company find themselves being hunted by a terrifying alien.

"The Archie team are really supportive of all the horrible things I'm doing to their beloved characters — in fact, they suggested a few of them," de Campi said.
