Telltale's take on Game of Thrones will be six episodes, premieres 'soon'

Another tease for Telltale Games' upcoming take on Game of Thrones hit Twitter this morning. The tweet says that Iron From Ice will be six episodes long and premiering "soon."

Six episodes would make the series the longest yet for Telltale. The developer's The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands each run five episodes.

The included image shows the book and television series' Iron Throne depicted in what appears to be a painterly style. This matches up with yesterday's tweet from Job Stauffer, Telltale Games director of public relations, in which he wrote that he was playing two games at the office. "One looks a lot like my favorite FPS, the other like a living oil painting."

Looking back at the tweets sent out about Iron From Ice, it appears that the game will likely be based on the House Forrester, a minor clan that is mentioned in the fantasy novel series, but hasn't made a debut yet on the HBO series. That theory is backed up by the second tweet which shows a house sigil in the shape of a tree.

In a recent interview with the IBTimes UK, Telltale's senior vice president of publishing Steve Allison said that the game would take the "multi-protagonist design even further with five playable characters from the same family whose choices affect everyone in the family, and that adds a whole new layer to things that we're really excited about."

Make sure you check out our full interview with the developers about how they teamed up for Game of Thrones and Borderlands.
