How Dragon Age: Inquisition uses the best parts of BioWare's best games

Dragon Age: Inquisition is chock-full of lessons learned from earlier installments in BioWare's fantasy-RPG franchise, as well as a few franchises they have absolutely nothing to do with. There's been no shortage of comparisons to Skyrim, which are fair, considering the looser open-world structure of the game, and its proclivity for improvisational mountain climbing. But the best parts of Mass Effect 2 and 3 are present too, and utilized brilliantly.
