Assassin's Creed Unity isn't the only game in the Assassin's Creed series released today...though it is the only one we currently have covered in a review. There's a reason for that.
Though Ubisoft provided Polygon with an advance copy of Assassin's Creed Unity, it declined to send us an early copy of Assassin's Creed Rogue, the last-gen game that also released today. We received a copy of the game this afternoon, and we've already locked up Polygon reviews editor Arthur Gies so he can get a review up of that as well.
Given some of the technical problems with Assassin's Creed Unity and the argument by some that Ubisoft gave reviewers a late embargo time to hide these issues from early purchasers, you may be concerned that the publisher is hiding something equally shady with Rogue by not sending it out early. We cannot confirm whether that's the case yet, but we'll provide a review as soon as we reasonably can for what's sure to be a rather long open-world game.
Assassin's Creed Rogue is available now for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a Windows PC port on the way. Of course, we recommend waiting until Polygon's review is up before you rush out and purchase a copy.
