Final Fantasy 8 has yet to receive a graphical upgrade to today's visual standards, but fan-made HD models offer a glimpse at the pretty possibilities.
3D game environment artist Scott Honeycutt took it upon himself to redecorate Balamb Garden with the help of Photoshop, Quixel and Unreal Engine 4. In Final Fantasy 8, Balamb Garden serves as a place for students to live and train to become a part of SeeD, a special mercenary force.

Final Fantasy 8 was re-released with an HD upgrade for Windows PC last year. Although the updated version offers a smoother visual experience than the 1999 release, it still retains the antiquated look of the original.
