Rockstar is now "urgently" investigating a technical problem that is preventing a number of Grand Theft Auto 5 users from transferring their profiles to the newly released PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, according to its latest support update.
This issue appears to be affecting those who have not played GTA Online since 2013. As a result, when attempting to transfer to PS4 or Xbox One, players receive an error message that reads:
"No previous Grand Theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account."
The game studio is currently seeking a solution, according to an update on the Rockstar Support website.
"We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven't played GTA Online since 2013," a statement from the company reads.
"If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience."
