Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year), has been cast as the leading villain in the next X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse, The L.A. Times' Hero Complex reports.
Isaac, who is also set to appear in the upcoming Star Wars movie The Force Awakens, will play mutant supervillain Apocalypse in a film adaptation of the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline. Apocalypse's appearance was teased in the previous X-Men movie, Days of Future Past, during a post-credit scene.
X-Men: Apocalypse is being directed by Bryan Singer and is expected to release in theaters May 27, 2016.
The first trailer for Isaac's other blockbuster film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will debut this Friday.
